My boy Jake...happy & devilish right up to the very end. His orthopedic problems finally got the best of him & I had to let him go yesterday when he had a really bad break in the leg under the hip implant & nothing could be done. I was with him when he took his first breath when he was born and I was with him yesterday hugging him & talking to him when he took his last breath. He was the naughtiest boy I've ever known & I loved it!! I'm devastated. I think of him every second. Jake, it was my honor to have you and love you. You were the strongest dog I know, right up to the end...even playing with me, kissing me, and barking like always even with that shattered leg. You were my protector. I love you!!!
